Novel Instrumentation

A collaborative project involving both the Reilly and Clemmer group involves the design of an ion mobility/linear trap instrument (see schematic above). The instrument will allow for highly sensitive and automated analyses of glycans. The proposed instrument will utilize an L TO (ThermoScientific) that is modified to accept an F2 laser for photofragmentation studies and a drift tube for introduction of mobility separated ions. The drift tube is a flexible design that will be operated in standard IMS mode or OMS filter mode.
